Globe Wimax - Connected But Unable to Browse Possible Solutions

Some speculation about the recent update done by Globe Telecoms in order to fight illegal connections have made almost a widespread problems to some people be it illegal or legit connections.

Several reports indicated that their Wimax Modems are connected to the network but unable to browse.

These problems has been break-down into two.

1.) The Wimax is connected to a working frequency but the WAN  is still in connecting state (network authentication problem).

2.) The Wimax is both connected to a working frequency and WAN but unable to browse.

Below are some possible solutions based on my personal experience and by the other users compiled to help you back to the cyber world.

*For Legitimate Users Guide:*

How to know the problem?

1.) First, login to your device. Open your favorite browser and type 192.168.254.1 (for BM622i 2009-2011 users) or 192.168.1.1 (for BM625, BM621 and BM622 2009-2011) and hit ENTER.

2.) Enter the username and password:

For BM622 2009-2010 models:

username: user

password: user

For BM622 2011 models:

username: user

password: 0SlO051O

For BM622i 209-2010 models:

username: user

password: user

For BM622i 2011 models:

username: user
password: 0SlO051O

3.)Scenario 1, Ok, now let's assume that you are now logged in to you Wimax GUI. 
Click the Wimax on the left pane and see if the status indicates that your Wimax is Connected to a working frequency. IF NOT, YOU NEED TO CONTACT YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER FOR THIS PROBLEM.

4.)Scenario 2, Now, click the WAN on the left pane and lets assume that your wimax status indicates that it is connected to a working frequency. But the WAN indicates PendingDisconnect, Connecting or Disconnected. YOU MUST CONTACT YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER if this happened.

5.) Scenario 3, The wimax is connected to a working frequency and WAN but unable to browse.

Well, for this scenario we have a possible set of solutions.

1.) DNS Override - Changing the DNS to a static/free DNS
2.) Using VPN - for anonymity

Ok, for DNS Override, I will be making another tutorial for this one soon.

Using VPN  - Best solution for Scenario 3.

Download and Install the Latest Hotspot Shield (Download Link) and connect it to a free server.
Then, browse the Internet for about an hour then, disconnect the Hotspot Shield and browse the Internet without VPN. Repeat this every time a browsing problem occurred.


*For Illegal Users Guide*

Well the steps are quite the same as with the Legit users but with slightly different approach.

First login to your wimax gui using the following passwords listed above.

Scenario 1
Ok, now let's assume that you are now logged in to you Wimax GUI. 
Click the Wimax on the left pane and see if the status indicates that your Wimax is Connected to a working frequency. 

Now, click the WAN on the left pane and lets assume that your wimax status indicates that it is connected to a working frequency. But the WAN indicates PendingDisconnect, Connecting or Disconnected.

Possible Solutions:

1.) Change your mac address and serial number.

To change the serial number use this following commands. 

For BM622 2009-2010

First you must enable your telnet to do this.

1.) Open Command Prompt and type telnet 192.168.1.1 and hit enter.
2.) Login using this username and password.

username: wimax
password: wimax820 (just type this even there's no text displaying and hit enter)

After a successful login, type this command.

setserialnum followed by your serial number (must be from a working account)

Example:
setserialnum 510772667214015000

For BM622 and BM622i 2011 

You're going to need the Wimax Upgrader download it here: (Download link)

1.) Open the Wimax Upgrader which you have downloaded lately. (NOTE: DO NOT CLICK THE UPGRADE BUTTON, JUST LET THE SOFTWARE OPEN)
2.) You must have your telnet enabled. Next, open Command Promp and type telnet 192.168.254.1 and hit enter.
3.) Login using this username and password.

username: Firefly
password: $P4mb1h1r4N4m4nT0!!

After a successful login, type this command.

xiugai serialnum (followed by your serial number)

Example:
xiugai serialnum 510772667214015000

For BM622i 2010

1.) You must have your telnet enabled. Next, open Command Promp and type telnet 192.168.254.1 and hit enter.
3.) Login using this username and password.

username: wimax
password: wimax820

After a successful login, type this command.

diag set serialnum (followed by your serial number)

Example:
diag set serialnum 510772667214015000

YOU MUST HAVE A WORKING MAC ADDRESS AND A WORKING SERIAL. IF ELSE FAILS JUST REPEAT THE STEPS. OR PROCEED TO SCENARIO 3.

Scenario 3, The wimax is connected to a working frequency and WAN but unable to browse.

Use the same solution above used by the legit subscribers. If else fails, try and try and never give up!
